چکیده
The results of 86 replicated experiments on soybean (Glycine max) cultivation practices in eight provinces ± planned, conducted and analysed by farmers ± were examined to identify local dierences in the eects of cultural practices on yield, and to explore the potential for farmers to improve their practices. Plant spacing consistently improved yield relative to broadcast seeding. The comparison between a moderate and a high dose of N, and between local spraying practices and integrated pest management, also had a relatively consistent eect on yield. Conversely, the eects of straw mulch, of moderate doses of N compared to zero N, and of weeding, were highly location-speci®c. A change in cultural practices in ̄uenced yield and economic bene®ts more strongly in lowthan in high-yield situations. Modi®cations of current cultivation practices often resulted in a signi®cant yield increase. This suggests that farmers need training in how to improve their cultural practices and that it should utilize locally conducted ®eld experiments. Training in experimental skills made farmers less dependent on external measures and advisers, and enabled them to become `experts' who utilize science.

Objective(s):Atherosclerosis is chronic inflammatory process triggered by oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can increase hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)level, which induce atherosclerosis through the processes such as formation of perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT), foam cells, and atherosclerotic plaque. Antioxidant is needed to control negative effects of oxidative stress. One source of antioxidant...

Sardinella lemuru is a dominant small pelagic fish (80-90%) caught by purse seiner in Bali Strait, while the remaining 10-20% consist Decapterus spp., Euthynus affinis, and others. This composition typically varies seasonally, whereas Southeast monsoon season was dominated by S. lemuru, while Northwest monsoon season replaced by Decapterus spp. and E. affinis. Fishing trend in the last 14 years...

متن کاملThe role of Azolla on improving nitrogen efficiency in rice cultivation
Nitrogen is essential for both vegetative and generative stages of plant growth. Nitrogen efficiency is related to plant growth, production cost, and fertilizer residue. Azolla has the ability to increase nitrogen fixation from the atmosphere. Thus, Azolla cultivation in paddy field is one strategy for improving nitrogen fertilizer efficiency and increasing plant vegetative and generative growt...
